Care of garments

At Mae, we believe in providing the most complete shopping experience for our customers and this of course includes giving all of you some tips about how to take care of your new Mae purchase!

We highly recommend handwashing your garments to prolong their lifespan as washing machines are known to be extremely harsh on delicate fabrics like chiffon.
Softeners smell great on your clothes, but they are chemicals after all and they have a mild effect on some prints. The prints lose colour and texture faster when washed with softeners.
You should also reverse your clothes and ensure all buttons and zips are done up before washing them so as to reduce potential damage to the prints and the fastenings on the garments, this will ensure that your clothes still look new and great even after repeated washes!

But of course, for those who are averse to the idea of handwashing clothes, Mae tees and all our other clothes are in fact, machine washable. To ensure that your new Mae tee remains in the best condition possible, do remember to iron the tee inside out and avoid bleaching excessively. Please note that due to the natural characteristics of the cotton material which Mae tees are made of, some shrinking may occur after washing, however, this is a negligible amount and no cause for undue concern.

Last but not least, for optimum results, do remember to wash like-coloured clothes together!
